Positive Thinking

happyAct as if you were already happy and that will tend to make you happy.

Really?  I can’t even count how many times I have heard this from well intended people who just don’t understand the nature of depression and bipolar.  They really do mean well.  And for those that are not suffering from a chemical in balance, please, SMILE, it really does work.  But for me, it confounds the problem.  Thoughts of inadequacy and failure, reminders of my “short coming” boom in my brain, and the depression deepens.  So now I use that well intended wish to put a smile on my face as a trigger to, go get some help.

Such a nice post, also I’ve heard the saying “fake it until you make it” which in my opinion is kind of a training to feel confortable with happiness for example, and then it becomes so natural to be happy :))
